DISHA – BANDIPUR

Educating 5000 rural children of the Bandipur forest area

The pandemic has changed how millions around the globe are to be educated.

Every single day of school counts. 

The school closures due to COVID-19 impacted the learning of 247 million children in India.

DISHA – Bandipur is a program designed with the following objectives:

To bridge the Learning loss of students during this pandemic, from the remote forest areas of Bandipur.

Deploying additional teachers, employed by Kshiti Foundation to each school to enable children with continued access to quality learning.

Engaging the community to participate in supporting and owning the primary education in all villages.

Environmental activities are aligned to the curriculum to enrich learning.

Curriculum aligned and activity-based enriching learning programs.

Personalized learning plans for each child based on identified learning gaps

Preventive and proactive health check-up sessions by qualified doctors

The current focus is on Primary School children from Grade 1 to Grade 7 aligned to Karnataka State Education Board.

Brand Ambassadors

Pudipeddi Sai Kumar is an Indian actor, dubbing artist and television presenter who works predominantly in Kannada and Telugu films, in addition to a few Tamil films. He has received two state Nandi Awards and three Filmfare Awards South for his work in Kannada and Telugu cinema. His performance in Prasthanam (2010) featured in the list of the “100 Greatest Performances of the Decade” by Film Companion.

Manjunath Nayaker is an Indian actor and public relations professional. He is better known by his screen name Master Manjunath and “Swami” for his lead role in the television series Malgudi Days (1987) directed by Shankar Nag and in its film version, Swami And Friends.
Master Manjunath, who started acting at age three, has been part of 68 movies in Kannada, Telugu and Hindi, but it was his role in Swami and Friends that fetched him recognition, in addition to six international, one national and a state award. He became a PR professional and has been working for the Bangalore – Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project (BMICP). He now runs his own PR consultancy company.
